About Baker?s Shoes & Clothing
In the early 1950's, Bill Baker started working with his father-in-law in a Eugene, Oregon custom boot shop and 1,200 sq. ft. store known as Purkey's Shoes. Bill's brother Dave joined him in the early Sixties and it soon became Baker's Shoes. Dave's son Gene Baker took over the business in 1985 and worked with his cousin and brother to keep the family business growing. Since then, Baker?s has expanded the footwear selection and added outdoor clothing and gear to its inventory, now in a 7,800 sq. ft. store plus a retail website. Gene?s sons Kyle and Brandon also work for the business. In 2009, the Baker Family launched the interactive Build A Boot? website with the ability to select attributes and enlarge/zoom in on features to create custom handmade boots. Gene Baker said, ?We believe boot-buyers everywhere will enjoy this exciting new system based on our business model from 50 years ago: the ability to order a pair of boots to your exact specifications.?
Baker?s Shoe & Clothing also offers all kinds of holiday gifts for women, teens and kids who love the outdoors. Visit their website (http://www.bakershoe.com) to browse their WOMENS, JUNIORS and KIDS sections; plus their GEAR section.
